Pearl Jam / My Morning Jacket - Hartford

Went to the PJ / MMJ show last Saturday...what a time we had! My buddy Bill, as a member of the 10 Club, gets priority seats to all the shows he orders thru 10C. Upon picking up the tix at the box office we found out we were in the 5th row. Found a great Italian restaurant on the Silas Deane Hghwy named Angellino's. Great food and service and VERY reasonably priced. Had a nice pre-concert feed and after picking up another friend, Matt, on the way to the pre-show we headed over to Sweet Janes in Hartford for the CCFA pre-party and fund raiser. It was a very successful event and congratulations to the team that organized it and thanks to Sweet Janes for hosting it. A great time was had by all and money was raised for a wonderful organization.

My Morning Jacket absolutely rocked in the opening set. I've been a big fan of their's since 2004 when I saw them at the BCN River Rage at Great Woods (some naming conventions never die...call me old skool!). This was the 4th time I've seen them since, and they've never dissapointed.

Not much to be said about PJ except...SEE THIS TOUR! They played about 2 1/2 hrs and were terrific. Hopefully, I'll be able to check out the Camden shows in a couple of weeks.

Enjoy the pics.

G'Earls and Pearls...

Spent the evening at the Hartford Club yesterday, playin' pool and suckin' down JD with a great bunch of new guys as a prelude to what I'm calling my "G'Earls and Pearls" weekend. First off I'll be merchin' for Uncle Earl at the Egg in Albany tonite and at the Ironhorse in Northhampton on Friday. If you like old timey and original acoustic music with punch you're bound to enjoy the G'Earls! They definitely 'kick it up a notch!'

Saturday night finds me at the opening show of the Meadows (Htfd) season with Pearl Jam. An old friend is coming up from South Jersey and has great tix from the 10 Club. Should be a great time and it's always great seeing friends.
